Guess what?! Glimpse TV is back! I know it’s been forever since an episode has come out and I wish I had a good reason but I don’t. I’ll leave it at that and simply say that I’m really psyched to share today’s episode with you!

I was blessed to meet Ophira (aka Ophi) Edut in the live Fire Starter Session we attended back in the day when Danielle LaPorte was still doing these small, intimate gatherings. Our NYC group stuck together continuing to stoke one another’s flames for a good year after the initial meeting and Ophi and I formed a sweet friendship as a result.

For whatever bizarro reason, this is Ophi and my third attempt at an interview for Glimpse TV. Erased hard drives, bad timing, and weird lighting all contributed to waiting this long to experience the Divine Ms. Ophira Edut on my fair online talk show.

But today is the day! I’m thrilled to (finally) share Ophi’s wisdom, humor, depth of knowledge, passion for the stars, and adorable Detroit accent with you. Ophi has been studying astrology for over twenty years and she has some gems for you, so be sure to tune in.

During today’s episode of Glimpe TV you’ll learn:

why astrology can be a great gauge for timing events in your life

why human beings actually do come with user’s manuals

how to use the instructions you came with for optimizing your life potential

how astrology can actually be a profound tool for freedom instead of limiting you to some sort of pre determinism

about the 3 year span in everyone’s life that sometimes feels like hell but leaves you for the better

how to use astrology to become more curious about people instead of trying to make them more like you want them to be

During the video we talk about a really fun class that I’ll be taking with Ophi and her twin sister Tali being offered through Hay House every Monday in October (there’s 5 of ‘em) called Becoming Your Own Astrologer.
To find out more about Ophi and the AstroTwins, visit www.astrostyle.com. Don’t forget to sign up for their free weekly astrological updates. I read them every single Sunday night as part of my preparation for a cosmically aligned week.

The day after I’d left Austin, TX this fall on the final leg of The Freedom Tour from Scottsdale, AZ to Wainscott, NY (where I currently reside – there’s been some confusion about that so I’m clearin’ it up) I got a very sweet, very cool email from a woman named Carrie Contey. She said such lovely things to me that I couldn’t help but head over to her website and find out what this woman was all about.

I was delighted to take in not only Carrie’s gorgeously designed online presence (yay Jennifer Elsner of Viewers Like You) but also the fact that she’s a parenting expert. I was immediately drawn in by her contagious smile and her unusual, yet refreshing perspective on parenthood, and really, humanhood:

By guiding, supporting and inspiring her clients to live the life they are here to live, Carrie‚ encourages living with a wide open and courageous heart.

How awesome to guide people to be amazing parents through guiding them to be amazing human beings? It makes perfect sense, yet I’d never thought of it that way before. Granted, this is most likely because I don’t have kids yet. However, I bet I think about parenting more than the average woman who doesn’t have kids, except Carrie perhaps, because I’m so clear that being a mama is on my future path.

Because I’m so enthusiastic about kids and because being a super present mama was the reason I began pursuing financial freedom I was really psyched to talk to Carrie more. We had the most delightful and insightful conversation just before the holidays that we captured for you on Skype. We chatted about:

conscious parenting

the whole reason I started my business in the first place

how kids are actually here to grow YOU more than you’re here to grow them

what to do when you’re a mom and you find yourself not liking it very much

how to resource yourself and why

Carrie’s Evolve 2012 program where she’ll guide you in rewiring your brain, nice and slow

a HOT parenting tip you can try immediately (that I’m going to be using with my boyfriend and everyone else in my life) that will make your life easier as soon as you implement it!

Tune in and leave a comment to let us know about your own parenting foibles and tips, how you consciously are becoming better at humanhood, and anything else you want to share!

Click HERE to find out more about having Carrie as your personal trainer for your emotional health this year in her Evolve program.

She’s not only an amazing mama, she’s also a NY Times best-selling author, has had several very successful PBS shows, and has been a guest on Oprah 10 times! But, Glimpse TV really is the big time so I had to wait to have her on the show until I really felt she had proven that she has what it takes to be a guest :)

Seriously, though, I think my mom is my biggest fan and I’m pretty sure I’m hers.

Our relationship isn’t perfect, but as far as mothers and daughters go I think we’ve got it pretty good. She’s paved the way for my sister and me, not to mention millions of other women, to be more free. Not only do I have my mom to thank for giving me life, I also have her to thank for putting me on the path to financial freedom early on when she first handed me Robert Kiyosaki’s book Rich Dad, Poor Dad(If you haven’t done so already, buy this book and read it. Life. Changer.) So if it weren’t for her in more ways than one, The Freedom Tour wouldn’t ever have existed.

Here’s my favorite thing to do with my mom: LAUGH! Laugh so hard that we can’t breathe. Laugh so hard that we pee our pants. Laugh so hard that our faces hurt. Laugh so hard that we fall down.

Watch the video below if you want to laugh your face off with us. If you don’t giggle like crazy at the story we tell together I think you should double check to see if you have a pulse. Tune in to this very special episode of Glimpse TV to find out:

how to take an incredible picture with a real smile every time,

what my mom means when she says she was “born funny”,

how to break the mother-daughter chain of pain,

how family members keep one another stuck and how to get yourself unstuck,

the scientific reason why we are so desperate to please our mothers,

and, of course, hysterical laughter!

I immediately LOVED the concept and it made my cells buzz:

The MAYBE BABY Program- Six Weeks from Ambivalence to Peace: For women who hear a whisper of ‘maybe’ in their hearts.

She was reaching out to me as a 20-something entrepreneur who might be grappling with the idea of children to share my perspective along with other interviewees and some experts like sociologists and OB/GYN’s (to be coupled with her own coaching genius and personal story of ambivalence and then having a baby and being thrilled by the experience.)

Here’s the thing:

I’ve never, not even for one second doubted that I’m going to be a mother.

The one thing I’m 100% clear on in my life is that I want to have kids. In fact, my whole reason for starting a business was so that when I’m ready to have kids I can be fully present with them and not have to worry about sacrificing time with them for work or vice versa. (Watching the recent film I Don’t Know How She Does It with Sarah Jessica Parker reaffirmed my motherhood business fuel.)

Though I didn’t end up being interviewed for Maybe Baby as I’ve never been ambivalent about children, I felt a strong connection to what Randi is doing and know it could help thousands of women. I know tons of women who are entrepreneurs and/or are dedicated to their jobs who aren’t sure if they want kids. It’s an issue that they feel torn about and grappling with it causes quite a bit of social and personal mental and emotional rug burn. And as someone who’s never felt that way, I never quite know what to say to them.

Enter Randi Buckley with her Maybe Baby Program.

Here’s what she has to say about it:

“Maybe Baby” is a coaching program for women who are ambivalent about having children,

but hear the whisper of ‘maybe’ in their hearts.

With compassion and no hidden agenda, we work together to uncover your answer

AND to be at peace with it.

How beautiful is that? As young women we’re blessed with the opportunity to be and have anything we want. And that can be paralyzing at times. Just because we CAN have it all doesn’t mean we HAVE TO have it all. The truth is nobody wants it all. We want what we want. And Randi will help you uncover what that truly is in Maybe Baby.

Enjoy the journey.

Are you now or have you ever been ambivalent about having kids? Why?

If you’re a woman who works and has kids, what is that like for you? Any helpful wisdom to share?

What’s the one thing you know you MUST do before you die (like how I MUST have kids before I die)?
