Is what you’re doing now taking you where you want to go?

My mom told me that when she was graduating from college she didn’t know what she wanted to do next. Her dad said to her:

“Christy, why not medical school? At the end of four years you might as well have an M.D. at the end of your name.”

And so she went to medical school.

That decision was probably the most pivotal career choice of her life, given that her gift to the world has been teaching women about the wisdom of their bodies in a wide-spread, revolutionary way.

While medical school may not be your thing (it certainly was not mine), my Grandad had a great point:

Time is going to go by anyway. You might as well do something as it does.

The enrollment period for Marie Forleo’s B-School class of 2015 ends today at 3pm EST. The course won’t open again until a year from now.

(You can get all of the details about the program here. Marie gives you everything you need to make an informed decision on her program page.)

A year is going to go by whether you take action or not.

Ask yourself:

Where would I like to be a year from now? If I keep doing what I’m doing, will I get there?

Another question to ponder:

If I keep doing what I’m doing, what will my life look like in 5 or 10 years?

You see, if we want new results we have to take new actions.

Investing in yourself to take a course that’s going to teach you how to make money and change the world through leveraging the miracle of the internet may be way outside the box for you.

But remember: Everything we dream of that we don’t have is outside our comfort zone. If it were inside our comfort zone, we would already have it.

So, growth, expansion, and building our vision all require getting uncomfortable. They require doing things we’re not used to doing. They require a little bushwhacking.

Will there be people in your life who judge you? Probably.

Will the process of doing something different make your heart beat really fast and your stomach feel like it’s going to fall out your butt? Quite likely.

But those are not reasons not to do it.

In fact, they’re really great reasons to do it.

Now, B-School may not be that uncomfortable thing you need to do to make your dreams come true.

But, if your heart is telling you it is, on behalf of your future self, I encourage you to take action.

Imagine yourself a year from now.

What would you like your life to be like?
What would you like to be doing with your time?
Who would you like to be spending time with?
What kind of work would you like to be doing?
What kind of impact would you like to be making?
How would you like to feel?

Now, be honest:

Will what you’re doing now create those results?

If not, what are you going to do about it?

A year is going to pass by one way or another. You can either invest that year moving towards your dreams or do the same thing you’re doing now and be no further along onMarch 4, 2016, than you are now.

My mom spent the summer after college working as a clerk typist at her boyfriend’s family’s company. She was good at it. She types a million miles a minute.

But, if her dad hadn’t reminded her that time goes by whether we’re doing something with it or not, who knows what she would have ended up doing with her life?

(Possibly not writing incredible, best-selling books and changing the face of women’s healthcare. And that would have been a major bummer for us all, not just her.)

So, whether B-School is for you or not, I’m reminding you:

Time goes by. And often it goes by pretty fast.

We can either spend our time or we can invest it. (Tweet it!)

Get honest about which one you’re doing. Get honest about whether or not what you’re doing right now is going to get you to where you want to be.

And if it’s not, make a change.

Because we can’t make more time. We can only invest the time we have.

If you know you want to spend the next year investing in yourself and your business with B-School and Mike and my TLC bonus bundle as your guides, you can enroll right here.

This chance won’t be available for another year, so, even if you don’t feel ready, now is your moment. Get uncomfortable. Take a new action.  Make a change so you can make money and change the world.

Over to you:

When you ask yourself the question, “Is what I’m doing now going to get me where I want to go?” what’s your answer? If the answer is no, what are you ready to start doing differently. Declare it in the comments below! I’d love to be your witness!

I love Marie Forleo’s work, and I’ve benefited from it personally in a number of significant ways. I’m a proud referral partner of her program, B-School. This free video series is the way Marie is letting the world know about this program. Should you choose to purchase the program through my link, I may be compensated financially. I don’t recommend things lightly, but as I said, Marie is the real deal. I consider myself lucky to have her on speed dial as one of my friends and mentors, and I want you to have access to her particular brand of business genius as well.

  • It took me a long time to quit my corporate job and pursue my dream. Now I couldn’t be happier, but it has taken hard work and a ton of courage. I had the same thought process…even if this doesn’t work out, I’ll still be a licensed acupuncturist in four years. Thank you for your wisdom, Kate!

  • Samanda

Perfect timing(which is happening a lot lately!!)!! Just as I was getting ready to self publish my first book through Amazon(“~Musings of my Mind~”), this email popped up! I said a heartfelt, “YES!!”, and finished the process. It’ll be live today! This is going to aid me in moving back to California, in less than 2 months. Plus, I’m selling almost all my stuff! Excited for the brand new start, somewhere my Heart feels at home!! Thank you!!
